Common Issue 1: During the extrusion of industrial aluminum profiles, if the temperature is too low and the extrusion speed is too slow, the temperature at the exit of the extrusion machine may not reach the solution temperature, resulting in a failure to achieve the desired solid solution strengthening of the profiles.
Solution: Control the extrusion temperature and speed within the appropriate range to ensure that the temperature at the exit of the extrusion machine remains above the minimum solution temperature of the profiles.
Common Issue 2: Insufficient number of fans or inadequate airflow at the exit of industrial aluminum profiles result in slow cooling. This leads to failure in bringing down the temperature of the profiles to below 200°C within the specified time, causing premature precipitation of coarse magnesium silicide and reducing the solid solution phase, thereby affecting the mechanical properties of the profiles.
Solution: Strengthen the air cooling conditions at the exit, and if feasible, install mist cooling devices in the factory.
Common Issue 4: Inadequate homogenization treatment of the ingot results in the inability of the precipitated magnesium silicide phase in the ingot structure to re-dissolve within the relatively short extrusion time, leading to insufficient solid solution and affecting the product performance.
Solution: Perform homogenization treatment on the ingot.
Common Issue 5: Improper aging process, poor circulation of hot air, or improper placement of thermocouples result in inadequate or excessive aging.
Solution: Ensure proper circulation of hot air during the aging process and ensure that thermocouples are installed in appropriate positions to accurately monitor and control the aging time.
